The Poverello Food and Nutrition Center has assisted over 9,500 clients since its inception and currently serves over 1,500 unduplicated clients monthly. The goal of the Center is to serve men, women, and children in need who are living with HIV/AIDS.  Upon the suggestion of Mr. Feinstein, the Center is also including a food drive as part of this year’s fund-raising challenge

Fr. William F. Collins, O.F.M., Executive Director and Founder of Poverello noted that, “Since the early days of this virus the foremost Doctors dealing with HIV/AIDS have stated that following a good nutritional regiment is the best assurance of long life.”

The Poverello Food and Nutrition Center, a 501 C (3) charitable organization, will supply empty cartons to any business owner, church, organization, etc. that wishes to set up a protected drop-off area for edible dry good and canned foods. Individuals who wish to make a financial contribution for the purchase of food may forward their donation to Poverello, 2292 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors, FL 33305.

It is hoped that, during these times of growing urgencies and limited funding, we can raise additional funds so that the Center doesn’t face any unmet client needs. An average of 50 new clients currently apply for assistance each month.

All donations are tax deductible contributions. For further information contact the Center at (954) 561-3663 dial (1) for English and then dial extension 105.
